SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – Summerville will be the scene of a birthday celebration for Harry Potter, featuring favorites from the Harry Potter soundtrack played by the Summerville Orchestra (S.O.) String Quartet with readings by the Flowertown Players.

To be held on Sun., July 31, at 7 p.m. at the 200-seat James F. Dean Theatre in Summerville, the performance will include “Nimbus 2000,” “Hedwig’s Theme” and “Harry’s Wondrous World.” Actors from the Flowertown Players will perform readings from the beloved books, a celebration of its eponymous main character from the series by J.K. “We had such an amazing time with this last year, and I can’t wait to make it even bigger and better with our new creative partners,” said S.O. Music Director Wojciech (pronounced “Voy-tek”) Milewski. “We are so looking forward to this long overdue collaboration with the Flowertown Players and the James F. Dean Theatre, and so excited for what future projects this will bring forth! I hope to see you all there! And … go, Ravenclaw!!”

Suitable for all ages, this performance is a great way to introduce young children to the orchestra and instruments of the string quartet. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their favorite Harry Potter costume.

All tickets are $5 for general seating (no assigned seats) and may be purchased online at summervilleorchestra.org or at the door until sold out. Advance purchase is strongly recommended.
