FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the ticket price include fees?

There is a non-discountable transaction fee that ranges from .50 cents to $2 per ticket. Subscription series passes are subject to a one-time $5.25 fee.

I want to bring my child to a concert. What do I need to know?

There are no age restrictions for children attending our concerts. We believe in making music accessible to everyone, regardless of age.

While we encourage families to attend concerts together, it’s important to keep in mind that concerts can sometimes be lengthy events. Young children might have shorter attention spans, so it’s a good idea to choose performances that are appropriate in terms of length and content.

We understand that children can sometimes become restless or fussy during performances. If your child becomes upset or starts crying, we kindly ask that you step out of the concert hall temporarily to minimize disruptions to other attendees. This allows everyone to continue enjoying the music in a peaceful environment. If you need to step out of the concert hall with your child, our ushers will be happy to assist you in re-entering the hall when you’re ready to return. Just let them know, and they’ll help ensure a smooth re-entry process.

All children, regardless of age, must have a ticket adjacent to an adult to enter the hall. Your child is permitted to sit on your lap as long their head can fit underneath your chin. Taller children seated on a parent’s/caregiver’s lap can obstruct the view of other patrons.

Are there any discounts for students?

Concert tickets for those under 18 are $2 per performance or $6 for a season pass.

College students with a valid student ID are eligible for tickets at the rate of $5 per concert. The limit is one per patron.

How will my tickets be delivered?

Tickets will be delivered via email or placed in Will Call for pickup in person.

Tickets delivered via email will come from “Ludus Orders” with a subject line of [Ludus] Order confirmation for Summerville Orchestra. Once tickets are received digitally, you must select “view your order,” and you will be able to see the concerts listed with a digital or will-call option. Selecting digital will give you the option to print your tickets at home or conveniently add them to your Apple Wallet if you have an iPhone!

Will Call tickets will be available for pickup the night of the concert as soon as doors open (6:15 p.m. on Friday and 1:45 p.m. on Saturday). The will-call table is located inside the lobby to the left by the main doors.

Can I record or take photographs at concerts?

We do ask that you silence and put your phone away before the concert begins. Any flash photography is prohibited.

Audio and video recording are not allowed at the Summerville Orchestra concerts out of respect for the performers and your fellow concertgoers.

If you are found to record or take photos of the concert without permission, you may be asked to leave the hall.

We highly encourage you to capture your time with the orchestra before or after the performance or during intermission. Use #SummervilleOrchestra on social media, and we’ll like and share our favorites!

How long is the concert?

It varies, but most orchestra concerts are about two hours, with an intermission at the halfway point.

Should I arrive early?

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before concert time, so you can find a seat, check your phone and get ready to experience the orchestra! If you’re late, you may end up listening for a few minutes from the lobby. If that happens, an usher will help you find a seat at a pause in the program, so your arrival won’t disturb other concertgoers.

What is the seating arrangement?

Seating is on a general admission basis, following the principle of first-come, first-served. This excludes individuals requiring ADA/handicap seating. Specifically, designated ADA seating areas will be reserved for those who have purchased tickets for such accommodations. If you require ADA seating but haven’t purchased a ticket yet, please get in touch with us at office@summervilleorchestra.org for further assistance.
