We are currently hiring for Junior Philharmonic Conductor. The Junior Philharmonic is an introductory-level string orchestra primarily composed of middle school students performing Level 1 and Level 2 repertoire. The ensemble may also include optional percussion and piano. The orchestra presents three performances annually, including a fall concert, a winter tree-lighting performance and a spring concert.
Applicants must submit the following materials as part of their application:
- A video demonstrating the applicant conducting an ensemble.
- A second video demonstrating the applicant rehearsing and/or instructing students. This may be a separate video or included within the conducting video submission.
If the applicant is unable to provide a teaching/rehearsal video, they may instead submit a letter of recommendation from an administrator, mentor, or musical colleague who has observed the applicant working with students. The letter should address the applicant’s teaching abilities, communication skills, and rapport with students.
Applications will be reviewed beginning June 23, 2026, and will continue until the position is filled.
