Lillian Garcia – Percussion

I started playing drums in the 6th grade when I lived in Virginia Beach. I originally wanted to play saxophone, but I had childhood asthma and thought I wouldn’t be able to handle it. I have a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from James Madison University, and I taught middle and high school bands for almost 20 years. I joined S.O. the same year Wojciech started conducting the group, in 2016. When I’m not working as the continuity director at Cumulus Media Charleston or playing with S.O., I’m also playing with the Charleston Concert Band and the Mt Pleasant Symphony Orchestra. I love watching live sporting events and cheering on my Baltimore Orioles! I’ve been married to my retired US Navy CPO, Jericho, for almost 17 years, and we’re kept pretty busy with our 4-year-old, Greg. You can also hear me on the radio on the weekends on WSSX-95sx Hit Music Now!
