Up, Up and Away with the Summerville Orchestra at their Fourth Subscription Series Concert

It’s not hard to stand in the middle of Summerville and see three churches all within one block of each other. This makes it easy to say that religion has served as inspiration for much of the Summerville community and is playing a big part in this upcoming concert for the Summerville Orchestra (S.O.) titled “The Reformation.”

The S.O. looks to engage audiences with some musical history and how music has tied into the times of the Reformation and sacred music by performing several works that are tied into religious themes including Mendelssohn’s “The Reformation” symphony, Beethoven’s Overture to Egmont and Hans Zimmer’s Man of Steel.

In addition, the S.O. will be performing a world premier by local composer and architect Christopher Karpus. The piece titled Psalm 13 reflects on Karpus’ personal journey in life and will be shared in the program notes at the concert.

Join the Summerville Orchestra for its fourth subscription series concert featuring these amazing works and more! Tickets are $22 for adults and $2 for those under 18. Livestream access tickets are $20. To purchase tickets please visit, SummervilleOrchestra.ludus.com.

The Summerville Orchestra seeks to share its love of music by engaging and enriching the community through the orchestral art form.
