Frank Miley – English Horn

I am Frank Miley, and I play oboe and English horn with the orchestra.  I started playing oboe during my sophomore year at Goose Creek High School – 1970 or so. I like to say that I didn’t pick the oboe; the oboe picked me. Truth is, though, that my band director called me aside one day and showed me an oboe she’d borrowed from Fox Music House.  “This is an oboe, and I think you’d do really well with it.”  And here we are!  I’ve just completed my fifth season with the orchestra, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, such great new friends and such incredible music to share.
