What is a “podcast”?

Simply put: a podcast is an audio program, just like Talk Radio, but you subscribe to it on your smartphone or other device (like a laptop or desktop computer), and listen to it whenever you like.

What is the S.O. Podcast?

Behind the Music: The S.O. Podcast takes you behind the music of the Summerville Orchestra. From conversations with musicians, composers and guest artists to our monthly Music Chat series, explore the stories, people and ideas that bring orchestral music to life.

The S.O. Podcast features recordings from our live Music Chat series, recorded each month at the Dorchester County Library at Ashley River. Because these episodes are recorded live, you may hear occasional audience noise, pauses or technical moments that don’t translate quite the same way in a podcast. Thanks for joining us from wherever you’re listening!

How do they work? And how do you listen to them?

In a little more detail, a podcast is a series of spoken word, audio episodes, all focused on a particular theme, in our case, our orchestra and topics pertaining to the orchestra and the music scene. You can subscribe to the Summerville Ochestra podcast show on your phone or computer with an app.
